Laser engraving is the practice of using lasers to engrave or mark an object. The technique can be very technical and complex, and a computer system is used to drive the movements of the laser head. Despite this complexity, very precise and clean engravings can be achieved at a high rate. The technique does not involve tool bits which contact the engraving surface and wear out.
Tools for i.e. plastic injectionmoulding can be engraved with the laserbeam. The logo or text, which has to be shown up at the plastic product, has to be engraved in mirror picture in the tool.
General engraving depth is 0,05 mm. Maximum possible with our laser is 0,2 mm. As alternative for spark erosion and milling.
Advantages of laser-engraving:
- No zinc-profile electrodes has to be made in case of spark.
- In many cases the laser can complete the engraving faster than other methods.
- With the very fine diameter of the laserbeam, extreme fine details can be engraved.
